Since 2018, Shira D Gordon has worked in science communication. She founded SheRockScience LLC for her activities.

For many of her productions she is a one woman show producing, direct, writing, filming, and editing. When working with others on projects, she likes to focus on writing, interviewing subjects, and directing.
In 2020, Shira was named Producer of the Year award by CMAC in Central California.
As a science writer Shira has worked in freelance and contract roles since 2018. She has worked with numerous NIH institutes, CDC, advocacy groups, non-profit organizations, and more.
Shira has managed websites that receive over 20 million annual views. She works with writers and subject matter experts to ensure the content is accurate and clear. In addition, she coordinates with the web team to deliver web content, overseeing development and administration.
Using her deep understanding of scientific topics, she has spearheaded projects to explain content in a variety of formats. She works with creative teams to produce fact sheets, infographics, and multimedia content. She also meets with scientists and subject matter experts to determine the most impactful elements of the work to share.
